About Cavachons
Being bred from two smaller parent breeds, Cavachons tend to be small. Their coats are usually somewhere between the silky straight coat of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the curlier coat of a Bichon Frise. This makes for a medium-length coat that is slightly wavy. Common colors for Cavachons include cream, white, black, tan and apricot. Most of these designer dogs will have a coat that is mostly white or cream with markings in other colors. Cavachons tend to be friendly and they get on well with people. They like to play, but they are not overactive.
Origin of the Cavachon
The Cavachon is a mix between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise. This type of designer dog was first bred in the mid-1990s in North America. The intention was to create a small companion dog that had a combination of the favorable traits from both parent breeds.
Is a Cavachon right for me?
If the Cavachon is your breed of choice, you can expect a cuddly lap dog that loves spending time with people. Most of these dogs have an upbeat personality and they can integrate well with homes that have children and other pets.
