About Cavatzus
The Cavatsu is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Shih Tsu, but will generally resemble the Shih Tzu. They have five major color variations, including ruby, tan, white, brown, and black. They are small dogs, on the large end of toy companions, weighing in at up to 16 pounds for full adults, and are between9 and 18 inches at the shoulder.
They are playful and intelligent and are known to jump when excited, but they are excellent dogs to have around children and the elderly. They are very sociable dogs, even being comfortable with strangers. While they do not need extensive exercise, they greatly enjoy walking and respond well to ball play.
Origin of the Cavatzu
The Cavatsu was originally bred out in the 2000s to be a large toy breed that could provide companionship for a wide variety of households. They are the product of crossing purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Shih Tzus
