About Great Pyreneess

This breed is well known for their patience which came in handy as they sat on top of freezing cold mountains for days watching sheep. They are fearless and will not hesitate to defend their flock whether they be sheep or their human family. These dogs love their families and bond with them like they do with their flocks of sheep. They are great family dogs and make excellent watch dogs, alerting and protecting your family if required of them just as they would for sheep in the wilds. He will bark at strangers because that is his job. The Great Pyrenees has a lush weatherproof coat that primarily comes in white but also can come in shades of gray, badger, reddish, and tan. They have a gentle friendly face with large warm eyes that are always watchful of their surroundings. This breed, due to their thick coats tend to prefer cooler climates and environments. They can get hot easily when out exercising on a hot summer day. When out on a drive, they often prefer the air conditioner to be on full blast.
