A happy go lucky breed that seems to get along with everyone, the Havapoo is friendly, playful, outgoing, and charming. They are a very smart breed and seek the approval of their master. As with many mixed breeds, they can vary a bit from one to the next, so some will be more rambunctious, while others are laid back and sensitive. If you do have a more spry pup, they will mellow with the years, becoming calmer with adulthood. They are incredibly trainable and respond well to rewards and treats.
Havapoos do not shed, and only need to be brushed or combed once a week. This should be sufficient time to remove any built-up debris and loose hair. Make sure to trim around the ears and eyes to help airflow and prevent infection.
Origin of the Havapoo
The Havapoo does not have a very well documented history or origin. It is a designer breed resulting from a Havanese crossed with a miniature or toy Poodle, that has come about in the last 20-30 years.
