They Husky-Poodle breed is very intelligent and active, both traits of the parentage. As such, they will need large amounts of exercise and mental stimulation to prevent behavior issues stemming from boredom like digging or chewing. The Husky-Poodle has some of the stubbornness of its parentage, so training will be an absolute necessity. They will usually latch on to one favorite person, but will still get along with everyone. The prey drive on the Husky side can make cohabitation with a cath challenging.
The Husky-Poodle coat is pretty easy to maintain, only needing one or two brushings per week with a slicker. If they inherit the double coat, they will adore the cold but will need to take care in the summer.
Origin of the Husky-Poodle
The Husky-Poodle has likely existed for many years before the designer breed boom. Once the boom hit, breeders began intentionally crossing Siberian Huskies with Poodles in the latter half of the 1990s with the intention of lowering the shedding of the resulting mix.
