The Jack Russell Terrier is small energetic, yet clever dog. Their coats tend to be smooth and come in a variety of colors usually white, or white with tan or black markings, even tricolor. They’re need regular exercise which can range from walking or running. They are highly intelligent dogs and can learn tricks and even quickly learn how to run an agility course. They love to play fetch and do great with positive motivation for rewards. They are loving family dogs who enjoy being around their people and spend time with their family. They do well with older children and do best by themselves, but should be introduced with positive interactions with other dogs at an early age.

The Jack Russell Terrier originated in the 18th century when Jack Russell bred a specific breed of Terriers that that could hunt foxes. They were popular hunting dogs capable of tracking and going after foxes into their dens. One famous Jack Russell Terrier is known as Wishbone.
