Lhasa-poos are small, cuddly, and sweet dogs. They vary in size and color – they usually come in solid or mix of cream, black, white, brown, or apricot. Generally, they are considered hypoallergenic and non-shedding because of their Poodle parent. Being an affectionate and friendly breed, they interact great with young and old people, and can socialize well with other pets. They can be a bit stubborn but they are smart dogs who, with positive reinforcement training, may learn fast.
Origin of the Lhasa-Poo
The Lhasa-poo or also called Lhasadoodle is a mix of the Lhasa Apso and Poodle breeds. Like most designer breeds, there is no definite date of origin for the Lhasa-Poo but they are believed to be around for about 20 years. Lhasa Apso and Poodle breeds have both existed for centuries. The former comes from Tibet and the latter is believed to have originated from Germany.
