The Miniature Pinscher’s coat is shiny and soft, they require minimal grooming with a soft bristle brush. Their coat colors range from black and rust, chocolate and rust, and red. They are confident, curious and intelligent. They make great watch dogs due to their confident and protective nature. They are a curious dog always wanting to investigate and look into things. They’re a highly energetic breed and need regular exercise and attention to keep out of trouble. They’re affectionate with family and do well with older children. Miniature Pinschers love to play for attention and enjoy toys. They do great when socialized early with other dogs, people and experiences.
Origin of the Min Pin
Originally bred in Germany, the Miniature Pinscher’s primary job was to kill rats in homes and farm buildings. While they look very much alike a miniature Doberman, the Miniature Pinscher breed is very different and much older.
