Origin of the Newfoundland-Bernese
The Newfoundland-Bernese or the Bernefie is the mix of two large-and-giant-sized dogs, the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Newfoundland. The Bernese Mountain Dog is from the farmlands of Switzerland and the Newfoundland is from an island in Canada from which it was named after, Newfoundland. Both breeds have long and thick coats, giving the Newfoundland-Bernese hybrid the same coat that helps them adjust in extreme weathers.
