Being a hybrid of two breeds in the toy group, the Peketese is a small dog. While small in stature, these dogs tend to be big in personality. They can be playful and exuberant, and they often imagine that they could serve as guard dogs. Peketese dogs are known for being friendly, loyal and affectionate, but they can be wary of strangers and they may even bark act protective if an unknown person enters the space of family members. Dogs from this hybrid breed tend to have a round face with round eyes and hanging ears. The Peketese tends to have long, soft fur, and coats can come in a range of colors. White is the most common color for these dogs, but they may also be golden, brown, black, black and white or a mix of other colors.
Origin of the Peketese
The Peketese is a crossbreed created by mixing the Pekingese with the Maltese. As a designer dog, the origins are not easy to pin down, but the first intentional pairings of the two parent breeds likely occurred within the last 40 years.

If the Peketese is your choice of breed, you can expect a loyal dog that loves its owner to no end. While the affectionate and loyal nature can be endearing, they can also be stubborn and possessive.
