The Shiranians also go by the names PomShi, Shih-Pom, and Pom-Tzu. They are tiny, charming canines who are loyal and sweet. As a mixed-breed dog, they can inherit different personalities from either of their parents. They can be calm and playful like the Shih-Tzu, or energetic and protective like the Pomeranian. They love to be around humans and are great lapdogs just like both parent breeds. Shiranians usually have low-shedding coats that are considered hypoallergenic. They can have long or medium length coats that can be solid or a mix of white, brown, black, gold, and tan.
Origin of the Shiranian
The Shiranian is a mixed-breed dog developed by crossing a purebred Shih-Tzu and a purebred Pomeranian. They are small-sized hybrids with famous toy breed parents. The Shih-tzu and Pomeranian breeds are both old breeds who have been well-loved for centuries. Cross-breeding designer dogs are a recent trend that is believed to be about 20 years old.
