The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier has a medium, square, and balanced build. He is characterized by his soft wavy coat that comes in various shades of wheaten (golden). They can also be found in black, white, gray, and red. As puppies, the Wheaten is often a darker color that lightens up over their first couple of years.
This breed is bright, intelligent, happy, and confident. They are very alert and make good watch dogs, but their friendly nature make them fairly poor guard dogs. The Wheaten would make a wonderful addition to your family as they are good with children and the elderly.
