Shichons are cheerful, outgoing, and affectionate dogs who got the best qualities of their parents. The Teddy Bears are perfect lapdogs with their sweet and calm disposition. They love to please their humans and like to be around them most of the time. These canines are intelligent and easy to train especially when started at a young age. Shichons are low-shedding and are mostly considered hypoallergenic. They usually have silky, curly or wavy coats that may be solid or a mix of black, white, apricot, tan, and red.
Origin of the Teddy Bear
The Teddy Bear, also called the Shichon and Zuchon, is the mixed-breed between the purebred Shih-Tzu and the purebred Bichon Frise. These parent breeds are both ancient dog families who have been around for centuries. It is unknown when the Teddy Bear dogs were first bred but it is believed that they originated in the United States a few decades ago when breeding designer dogs became very popular.
