This breed has a very friendly personality and makes an ideal family companion. Due to their size they also make wonderful apartment dogs. The Whippet is not a great watchdog as they rarely ever bark. They are highly affectionate, undemanding, and love to cuddle up after a long day. They just love the company of their owner and family above anything else.
Origin of the Whippet
The origin of the Whippet starts in Victorian England where coalminers bred a smaller version of the Greyhound for dog racing and rabbit hunting. In these days they were affectionately nicknamed the “Poor Man’s Racehorse”.
