About The Breed

The Collie has a very pointy wedge-shaped head and large almond eyes and medium ears that stand alert and always listening. Their coats come in a long haired and short haired variety. Their coats can come in, merle, tricolored, and white.
Collies are very well known for their love of children, thanks to television tales of a young boy and his sweet and intelligent faithful companion. The Collie also makes a great companion for the elderly and the disabled. The family-friendly nature of this loyal canine makes it ideal for any family size. The Collie loves going out for walks and playing with the children on a day at the park.

The Collie originated in the mid-1800s Scottland where it was primarily used as a herding dog. They are agile, intelligent, and graceful, much like their forebears the Dogs that accompanied the Ancient Roman armies as they occupied northern England.
